Bio
James is a highly seasoned Chief Technology Officer with an extensive background in finance and technology spanning over two decades. His journey began with building award-winning low-latency Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income trading systems. James then transitioned into leadership roles, steering both development and architecture teams at prestigious financial institutions such as Refinitiv, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, and Credit Suisse. He also had an active role in the open-source community during the formative years of FinOS the Fintech Open Source Foundation.
Until mid-2022, James held the position of interim Chief Technology Officer and Group Head of Platform for data and analytics at the London Stock Exchange Group as part of the acquisition of Refinitiv. During this tenure, he broadened his data and AI experience, recognising that knowledge extraction enabled by the new wave of AI will enhance control of the financial sector as well as improve ESG reporting and transparency which will help against the fight against climate change.
Prior to joining CUBE, James was the CTO at BeZero Carbon, where he helped the carbon credit rating agency scale and leverage technology as part of their successful Series B investment.
